What makes successful athletes, leaders, artists, entrepreneurs and business owners is their consistent action towards a focused goal. It's their daily habits that they perform in order for them to keep moving towards their goal, irrespective of roadblocks along the way. What makes big change in your life is not doing big, bold things, leaping headfirst into a scenario, but rather small, disciplined actions that take you forward one step at a time.
I have had students come to my classes and proudly announce on their first day that they are going to be the best by the end of the year. And then they don't come back. This is because they are not willing to do the daily, consistent work of showing up and working hard at improving. They want instant gratification, they want a quick fix. And because they suddenly realise the amount of work involved, they give up and they don't even try.
